Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

My very first fictional crush (who wasn't a cartoon - don't worry Prince Erick, you're still number one) was Jack from Newsies. Maybe it was the floppy hair, or the super thick (bad?) accent, or the snazzy dance moves. Maybe it was that he fought for the under dog and stuck it to the man whilst singing. Maybe it was because he became Batman. Either way, I was smitten and have remained so. He was the standard by which every character crush would be measured.

So what about you? Who was your first character crush? What was it about the character that drew you to them?

If you have a second, I'd love to know!

Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

My family is a bunch of quoters. Whether it's words from a song, book, or movie, any one of us can begin a certain line or lyric and the rest will finish in a sort of bizarre call and response. One of our favorite quotes is from Guardian's of the Galaxy. The line itself isn't necessarily funny, but Chris Pratt delivers it to perfection (shocker). Whenever anybody in the family says "No problem" someone else is bound to say "No problem at all." (Imagine that in Pratt's voice and this is hilarious intonation.)

So what about you? Do you have a favorite quote from a book, movie, tv show, or song?

If you have a second, I'd love to know!

Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

This morning, I saw a discussion about a character in one of my favorite book series. He's kind of an odd character who apparently ignites extreme emotions: LOVE or VISCERAL HATE. Some complained that this character nearly made them stop reading, others said it annoyed them when people got mad that he wasn't included in the movie. I personally loved him, but absolutely understand why some might not be on board (there were some good arguments made for why he didn't fit). My question this week is: has there every been a character in a book/movie/TV show that bothered you so much you nearly couldn't finish the story?

For me, Olaf in Frozen nearly had me walking out of the theater. #sorr...

Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

Last night, I dreamed about having a dream and then relaying said dream to a rapt audience when I was famous. A few days ago, I dreamed about training to be a Wonder Woman stunt double. Sometimes my dreams are weird and funny — if slightly worthless — anecdotes. Other times they inspire the words that I write.

Have you ever had a dream inspire you? Affect your day or relationships?

If you have a second, I'd love to know!

Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

Keeping it simple this week. What is the last book, movie, song, or TV show that affected you long after it was finished? I'm only mildly embarrassed to admit that Avengers: Infinity War wrecked me for a good two days.

Don't judge me.

I also remember crying for a very long time at the end of the Hunger Games Trilogy. It wasn't just character death, it was character death that didn't feel cathartic. What about you?

If you have a second, I'd love to know!

Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

Unpopular opinions seem to spark really good discussion, so I'm going with it. I'm curious, is there a story — movie, book, TV show, or song — you initially hated, but gave a second chance and found you enjoyed it? One example of this for me is Napoleon Dynamite. The first time I watched it, I did. Not. Get it. I didn't think it was funny at all. But the second time I watched it, something clicked. It started with a giggle, then morphed into full on, cheek aching laughter.

What about you? Ever given a form of entertainment you initially hated a second chance?

If you have a second, I'd love to know!

Welcome once again Wednesday Warriors!

I'm back to unpopular opinions this week. I'm curious, is there a character everybody else seems to love, but you just can't stand? For me, it's Snape in Harry Potter. What about you?

If you have a second, I'd love to know!
